Fence Repair

Fence repair in San Diego. We'll make it look like new, not patched.

A leaning fence, rotted posts, broken pickets, or a sagging gate — almost every fence has these problems by year seven or eight. We repair with matched materials and real carpentry, not a quick patch. Most repairs are done in half a day.

What do homeowners ask about Fence Repair?

How much does fence repair cost?

Picket replacement: $8–$18 per board including labor and material. Rail replacement: $120–$240 per rail. Post-base repair or replacement: $275–$450 per post. Full section rebuild: $350–$900 depending on length and material. We'll quote flat-rate up front, not by the hour.

Can you match my existing fence?

Yes in most cases. We stock common cedar and redwood profiles (1x6 dog-ear, 1x6 flat top, board-on-board) and standard vinyl colors (white, tan, khaki). We can match weathered wood with colored stain so the repair blends within 60 days of install.

My fence is leaning — does the whole thing need replaced?

Almost never. A leaning fence is almost always a post problem, not a panel problem. We straighten, reset or sleeve the post, and the existing pickets and rails go back up. Full replacement is rarely needed if the wood above the posts is still solid.

My gate drags and won't latch — can you fix that?

Yes. Sagging gates almost always mean the hinge-side post has shifted or the gate frame has racked. We reset the post if needed, install an anti-sag cable kit to pull the gate back square, and adjust or replace the hinges. Most gate repairs take under 90 minutes.

A storm took down a section — how fast can you come out?

We prioritize storm damage for same-day or next-day tarping or temporary bracing. Full rebuild is usually scheduled within the week, depending on material availability. Pool-barrier sections and street-facing sections get priority.

Homeowners who hired us for this

Got three quotes for a new cedar fence. Fence Pros was the only company that actually walked the whole line, pulled the HOA spec, and showed me a stain sample before quoting. Clean crew, clean jobsite, beautiful finish.

Melissa R. Cedar Privacy Fence Install · Carlsbad

Our 12-year-old fence was leaning bad and I thought we needed a full replacement. They installed steel post inserts on six posts, saved the panels, and the fence looks great for another decade. Saved me thousands.

David K. Fence Post Repair · El Cajon

Needed a code-compliant pool fence before our home sale. They came out same-week, quoted honestly, and installed glass panel fencing that passed inspection on the first try. Handled everything — measurement, hardware, final walk-through.
